The latest version #5 July 24, 2009 from Tim Champion. We'll keep posting them as we complete them. "Hip Shakin'Mama" is the first from our next album to be released in the Fall.
On this blues recording: KATHENA BRYANT on lead vocals, TIM CHAMPION, producer/guitarist playing his Les Paul with the pedal he designed which he named after Kathena, which he calls THE CLAPTHENA and introducing JOE IZZO on drums/percussion and ... JOE BATES on Bass!

This is a song we learned from a killer version by New Orleans' Soul Queen Irma Thomas, who is definitely a favorite of ours! It is a bit like the telephone game when you learn a blues song, trying to figure out the lyrics and then interpreting it to make it one's own.
